【Lecture Series】Gestaltism in Practice

The second speaker for this semester's "Buddhism and Psychology Interdisciplinary Lecture Series" is Prof. CAO Zhongwei (Psychologist/Counselor/Instructor at the Xuli Therapy Center), who will speak on "Gestaltism in Practice".
Causality speaks of past causes affecting the present and present causes affecting the cuture. One of the core tenets of Gestalt psychology is to discover and transform the underlying past causes of present neurosis so as to restore health and equilibrium. The Gestalt school believes in the inherent goodness of humanity, that awareness and understanding are the means for resolution and transformation, and that everyone can achieve self-actualization in their lives. If we can properly release inhibited energies from our unfinished past, we can return to a state of internal balance and clarity about ourselves.
