On December 1, 2024, the 6th National Group B Muay Thai Championship came to a wonderful conclusion. Song Huici and Pan Zhirou, two first-year students of Foguang University's Bachelor's Degree in Sports and Health Promotion Management, participated hand in hand and showed outstanding results.
Among them, student Song Huici won the gold medal in the test competition of the adult women's group with only one month of training to prepare, showing her extraordinary potential; while classmate Pan Zhirou fought hard in the 81kg category of the adult men's group and won fifth place, bringing glory to the school.
Song Huici used to specialize in judo. After enrolling in school, under the guidance of a professional senior who also served as a Muay Thai coach, she quickly mastered the basic skills and practical techniques of Muay Thai in a short period of time.
During the competition, she used her steady posture and flexible offensive and defensive strategies to successfully face many skilled opponents, and finally won the championship with outstanding performance. Her adaptability and athletic potential are amazing.
In the men's competition, classmate Pan Zhirou showed an indomitable fighting spirit and was not afraid to face strong opponents. Although she was only one step away from reaching the podium, her wonderful performance won the recognition of the judges and the audience.
This excellent result demonstrates the guidance strength of the professional coaching team of Foguang University’s sports and health program and the diversified learning achievements of the students.
