In order to carry forward the traditional vegetarian food culture and respond to the trend of green dining, earlier FoGuan University and the Chinese Ancient and Modern Humanities Association held the "Foguang Cup-international vegetable cooking competition" at the courtyard of Yunqi Building. Nearly 100 teams participated in the competition, including student groups and social groups. Vice President of Foguang University Liu Sanqi, Dean of Colledge of LOHAS Industry Xu Xingjia, Director of WaterDop Teahouse, Venerable Yu Shi, Accounting Director, Venerable Miao Yang, Master, Chen Yingren, CEO Chen Yingren of Songyu Biotech Food, CEO Chen Fengzhou of Shanghao Restaurant, Chairman Hong Yinlong of Fahua Vegetaria Restaurant, and President of the Asian Restaurant Association Wu Binghao and other guests attended the event.
The competition was divided into the live cooking group, the on-site cooking high school group, the static cooking group and the static baking group with the theme of “healthy eating, creative fashion food”, and also invited 16 professional teachers serve as judges for various competitions. Participants come from all walks of life, including college students and high school students. The farthest students are from the National Penghu University of Science and Technology. There are also more than 20 professional chefs in the industry to sign up and compete with each other.
There are a total of 12 groups of students of FouFuang University enrolled in the competition, and have won awards, winning a total of one gold, four silver, three bronzes and four winners. The gold medal is also won by the vegetarian students, Fu Fusheng and Yu Zhongkai. This year is also the first time for Foguang University to hold a large-scale vegetable and food competition in the school. It is worth mentioning that the details of the event are all raised by the Department's students, from the event host, reception of participants and VIPs, etc. It is the student’s full responsibility. Seeing students' such excellent performances in the event, teachers of the university express deep appreciation and affirmation.
During the event, FoGuang University also specially invited Professor Yang Yajun of Vanung University, Administrative Master Chef Chen Yanzhi of Lianan Health Kitchen, and Administrative Master Chef Jiang Zende of Hotel Royal Chiaohsi, and let the three professional teachers demonstrate "Tianbei Cuisine", "Bao Kang Sheng Medical Meal", and "Ilan Cuisine", which gave an innovative vegetable and cooking class to all participants on the scene.

In the form of competitions, FoGuang University expects students to see and learn other people's cooking skills, and also hope could stimulate their interest in the promotion of vegetable food culture, and then could furtherly combine the concept of healthy and creative diet to enhance the domestic vegetable industry technology, and become the pioneer leading domestic vegetable food research and development promotion, to create a new vegetarian era!
